A great part about Kyoto is that there are endless daytrip options -- since this was our first time in Kyoto, we hit Inari (home of the famous Fushimi Inari), Uji (home of matcha), and Nara (home of the world's largest bronze statue of the Buddha... and the adorable deer park).
Here's what we saw at Inari, Uji and Nara:
Inari train stop
Obligatory Fushimi Inari tourist pic
It's about a 2hr hike to the top of the shrine past many, many tori gates
You'll pass by these foxes (guardian of the shrine)...
...Get glimpses of cherry blossoms
Uji Bridge to Byodoin Omotesando shopping street
It was a rainy day in Uji
Tsuen Tea Shop, the oldest tea house in the world
Todai-ji temple in Nara
The deer park leads to the entrance of Todai-ji
Look at that face!
I have many photos of this cuteness
Todai-ji
The largest bronze statue of the Buddah at Todai-ji
